Softball Recap: St. Clair Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

While St. Clair put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Sterling Heights Stevenson. The Saints were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Titans. The win continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won seven in a row.

Gracie Pickelhaupt made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one triple, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madisyn Treat, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Maliyah Smith also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

St. Clair always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

St. Clair pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Sterling Heights Stevenson, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Looking ahead, St. Clair will square off against Utica Eisenhower at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Sterling Heights Stevenson, they will face off against Stoney Creek at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
