Softball Game Preview: Lansingburgh Knights vs. Troy Flying Horses

Lansingburgh is 0-3 against Troy since April of 2022 but things could change on Wednesday. The Knights will head out to square off against the Flying Horses at 4:30 p.m. The last three games Lansingburgh has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While Lansingburgh's victory against Mohonasen wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights had just enough and edged out the Warriors 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.

Guiliana Patregnani made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taylor Moran, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Victoria Brown also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Troy came out on top against Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Flying Horses walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Ravens.

Lansingburgh's record now sits at 8-3. As for Troy, their record is now 6-2.

Lansingburgh might still be hurting after the 12-4 defeat they got from Troy when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
