Football Game Preview: Izard County Cougars vs. McCrory Jaguars

The Izard County Cougars will take on the McCrory Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Izard County and three for McCrory.

Izard County is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Cross County on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Cougars had to suffer through a 53-6 loss at the hands of the Thunderbirds. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-6.

Despite the loss, Izard County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Benaiah Spray picked up 137 receiving yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, McCrory lost 32-12 to East Poinsett County on Friday.

McCrory now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Izard County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
