Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Adams City). They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Jefferson Saints on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Mauro Acosta made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Adams City let Christopher Valdez and Miguel Rodriguez run wild. Valdez scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Rodriguez scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave Valdez a new career-high. Christian Ramirez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

As for Jefferson, they will head out to challenge Arrupe Jesuit at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Arrupe Jesuit has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.33 runs per game on average), something Jefferson will no doubt try to take advantage of.
