Volleyball Recap: Sierra Linda Comes Up Short

Sierra Linda had lost five straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 7-10 to make it six. They fell just short of the Washington Rams by a score of 3-2. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rams earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Saydi Poitier paced Sierra Linda's offense, picking up 18 kills. Poitier got some help from Sinais Bernal and her 29 assists. Poitier was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

As for Washington, with the victory, they broke their nine-match losing streak and moved their record to 4-15. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted against Sierra Linda since September 29, 2021.

Leading Washington to victory were Amanda Cangmah and Camille Harp. Cangmah had 14 digs and two aces, while Harp had 22 digs and four aces. What's more, Cangmah posted three assists, the most she's had since back in September.

Sierra Linda wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against La Joya Community on the 27th. As for Washington, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Glendale on the 23rd.
