Basketball Recap: Mckinley Tech Takes Down Ranked Ron Brown

On Wednesday, McKinley Tech faced Ron Brown in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The McKinley Tech Trainers came out on top against the Ron Brown Monarchs by a score of 59-46. That's more bragging rights for the Trainers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Despite the defeat, Ron Brown saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lennox Walker posted 21 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. The dominant performance gave Walker a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Darrin Rado, who put up nine points and three steals.

McKinley Tech's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Ron Brown, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

McKinley Tech will look to defend their home court on Friday against Coolidge at 8:00 p.m. As for Ron Brown, they will head out on the road to face off against Roosevelt at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Roosevelt's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
