The Phoenixville Phantoms will take on the Spring-Ford Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Phoenixville will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Phoenixville barely beat Owen J. Roberts the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Phantoms put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 14-2 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Phantoms, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Phoenixville got a great performance from Cadin Coleman as he struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave Coleman a new career-high.
At the plate, Giovanni Vito was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Chris Mull, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Phoenixville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Spring-Ford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Boyertown. The shutout was out of character for the Rams seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.
Spring-Ford also got a good showing from Ethan Freed, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Freed also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Rams are 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-7 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Spring-Ford saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Witmer, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Spring-Ford now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Phoenixville, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-11 record.
Phoenixville came out on top in a nail-biter against Spring-Ford in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 5-3. Will the Phantoms repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
