Recap: Viburnum Blue Jays vs. Eagle Ridge Christian Eagles
This season hasn't been kind to the Viburnum Blue Jays, who are still winless after their tenth contest. They fell 67-60 to Eagle Ridge Christian on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Eagle Ridge Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase WIlliams, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 22 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points WIlliams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Margrabe, who scored 20 points.
Viburnum bumped their record down to 0-10 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight at home. As for Eagle Ridge Christian, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Viburnum will take on Cuba at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Cuba presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Viburnum in Missouri (Cuba is ranked 271st, while Viburnum is ranked 562nd). Eagle Ridge Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Thomas Jefferson School at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Thomas Jefferson School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 back in December of 2023.
