Soccer Recap: South Effingham Takes a Loss

After soaring to five goals the game before, South Effingham was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Long County Blue Tide by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, South Effingham can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 216th, while Long County are ranked 92nd).

South Effingham dropped their record down to 7-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Long County, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 13-1.

South Effingham has already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Effingham County on the 4th. As for Long County, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Vincent's at 5:00 p.m. on the 16th.
