The New Berlin Eisenhower Lions will challenge the Greendale Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
New Berlin Eisenhower barely beat Greenfield the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions blew past the Hustlin' Hawks 13-2 on Thursday. Considering the Lions have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Mya Ender made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Ender was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Jayda Karls was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Lexi Mainville was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Greendale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 13-10 to Waukesha West.
Noeli Schutten and Giselle Paszkiewicz stepped up to the plate in a big way. Schutten went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Paszkiewicz got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Paszkiewicz is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ella Padron, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
New Berlin Eisenhower is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Greendale, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. New Berlin Eisenhower hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .351. However, it's not like Greendale struggles in that department as they've averaged .372. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
New Berlin Eisenhower came up short against Greendale in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 4-0. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
