Recap: Geneva vs. Holy Cross Knights
It was a good run, but Geneva unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by Holy Cross 74-7. The low total for Geneva limited their streak of high-flying scores to seven in a row.
Jacob Rosenstiel threw for 87 yards on 18 of 32 attempts. Carter Doan was his top target, picking up 47 receiving yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Holy Cross to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gibby Alvarado, who threw for 234 yards and five touchdowns on only 15 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Daniel Perez was another key contributor, rushing for 168 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Geneva's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Holy Cross, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Geneva will look to defend their home field on Friday against Brentwood Christian at 7:00 p.m. Brentwood Christian is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Holy Cross does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
