Football Game Preview: Lamar Silver Foxes vs. C.A. Johnson Hornets + How To Watch

Lamar is on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while C.A. Johnson is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Silver Foxes will host the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lamar knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully C.A. Johnson likes a good challenge.

If Lamar beats C.A. Johnson with 41 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Silver Foxes breezed past Lee Central to the tune of 41-0 on Friday. The Silver Foxes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by 26 points or more this season.

Lamar's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tj Samuel led the charge by rushing for 89 yards and two scores on only six carries. Another back making a difference was Nygel Eaddy, who rushed for 75 yards and one TD on only eight carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lamar was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 265 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 233 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Lamar didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Josh Dials and Eaddy. Dials got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, C.A. Johnson didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Great Falls on Friday, but they still walked away with a 20-16 victory.

Lamar's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for C.A. Johnson, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Everything came up roses for Lamar against C.A. Johnson in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 49-16 win. Will the Silver Foxes repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
