Saylor Edwards was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Austin, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Edwards wasn't the only one working in the hit department: West Stanly kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Parkwood unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 11-7 to Buford.
Lily Kucmerowski was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Grayce Marvel was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Parkwood now has a losing record of 5-6. As for West Stanly, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
Parkwood's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: West Stanly has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .497. It's a different story for Parkwood, though, as they've only averaged .331. Will they be able to contain West Stanly's hitters?
Everything went West Stanly's way against Parkwood in their previous matchup on March 4th, as West Stanly made off with an 11-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Stanly since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
