Volleyball Recap: Murray Comes Up Short

Murray was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Jordan Jaguars. The Spartans were not able to make up for their loss to the Jaguars from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Murray started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-23, 15-7.

Murray's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for West Jordan, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Murray and West Jordan will both be playing Cyprus the next time they take the court. The Spartans will head out to face the Pirates at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Jaguars will play them later in the day, at 9:00 a.m.
