Softball Recap: Eastside Catholic's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Eastside Catholic dropped their record down to 8-11 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 14-5 to the Bishop Blanchet Bears. If the Crusaders were looking for revenge after losing 15-0 to the Bears when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Eastside Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elysse Williams, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another was Julian Crawford, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Bishop Blanchet, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Considering they have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

On Bishop Blanchet's side, Ali Wistrom was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Taylor Henry was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Eastside Catholic has already played their next matchup, an 11-8 defeat against Holy Names Academy on the 6th. As for Bishop Blanchet, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-7 victory against Garfield on the 9th.
