Recap: Firestone Falcons vs. Ellet Orangemen
The Firestone Falcons suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 on Thursday. They were dealt a 58-27 defeat at the hands of Ellet. Firestone has not had much luck with Ellet recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, Firestone had strong showings from Aalivia Mullins, who scored eight points, and Ahmyadi Wallace, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wallace has scored all season.
Leading Ellet to victory were Caitlyn Holmes and Sanaiiya Gray. Holmes scored 15 points along with six steals and five assists, while Gray scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. Gray is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Dacai Singletary, who scored six points along with three blocks.
Firestone has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Ellet, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Firestone will take on Waite at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Waite comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Ellet, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Loudonville at 6:30 p.m. on January 17th. Loudonville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
