Recap: Salem Baptist Christian Vikings vs. Hickory Christian Academy Knights
The Salem Baptist Christian Vikings pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hickory Christian Academy. Salem Baptist Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Salem Baptist Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Garrett Trinkle. Despite the final result, he shot 7-for-13 from long range and dropped a double-double on 39 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Trinkle has scored all season. Mason Gregg was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Salem Baptist Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Hickory Christian Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.
Salem Baptist Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Guilford Home Educators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hickory Christian Academy, Hickory Christian Academy and Statesville Christian will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Statesville Christian is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
