Basketball Recap: JP Sloan Key Part of a Team Effort in Wildcats Win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Galva ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bushnell-Prairie City Spartans, sneaking past 58-55. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their 21-point performance the match before.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Galva to victory, but perhaps none more so than JP Sloan, who posted 23 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Sloan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of John Ingels, who had 12 points and five steals.

Galva's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Bushnell-Prairie City, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

Galva will take on Abingdon/Avon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Galva is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56 points per game this season. As for Bushnell-Prairie City, they will face off against West Prairie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
