Basketball Game Preview: Mills University Studies Comets vs. Jonesboro Hurricane

Mills University Studies is 0-3 against Jonesboro since December of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The two teams will compete for holiday cheer at 8:00 p.m. Mills University Studies knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Jonesboro likes a good challenge.

On Saturday, Mills University Studies didn't have quite enough to beat Parkview and fell 79-77. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Patriots are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jonesboro). They secured a 79-73 W over Whitehaven on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Hurricane as they're now sitting on three straight.

Mills University Studies' loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Jonesboro, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

Mills University Studies was taken down by Jonesboro 60-25 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can the Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
