Softball Recap: Forks' Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Forks was riding high fresh off their 23-0 takedown of Chief Leschi two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans fell 8-5 to Pe Ell/Willapa Valley on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Forks saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Dilley, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Forks' loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2. As for Pe Ell/Willapa Valley, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pe Ell/Willapa Valley beat Forks by a score of 18-5 later that day.
