Basketball Recap: Grayson County Blue Devils vs. Galax Maroon Tide
The Grayson County Blue Devils's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Galax 42-39. That's another feather in the cap for Grayson County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grayson County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Austin Dowell, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mac Goad, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Grayson County's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Galax, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grayson County has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Pioneers at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Fort Chiswell is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Galax, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
