Basketball Recap: Sterling Raiders vs. Wheatley Wildcats
Sterling lost against Wheatley on December 2nd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Sterling Raiders fell to the Wheatley Wildcats 37-32. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1160th, while the Wildcats are ranked 513th).

Sterling's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Destiny Lewis, who posted five points in addition to five assists and four steals. Lewis is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Madison Morrow, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards.
Wheatley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayla Williams out in front who had eight points in addition to eight boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamie Solomon, who posted 11 points.
