Basketball Recap: South Gate Takes a Loss

South Gate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 57-41 to the Citrus Valley Blackhawks.

Citrus Valley found their leader in sophomore Carmine Amaya, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Tysean Turner was another key player, going 5 for 11 on his way to 14 points.

South Gate's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Citrus Valley, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

South Gate didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-40 loss against Diamond Ranch on the 27th. As for Citrus Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-48 defeat against Western Christian on the 27th.
