Softball Recap: Legend Titans vs. Chatfield Chargers
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Legend ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Chatfield Chargers 6-5. Six seems to be a good number for the Titans as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Charlotte Morgan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Morgan was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, a run, and a double.
In other pitching news, Madeline Kessel tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off 11 hits.
Back at the plate, Caylee Humphrey was excellent, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3. Ella Athey was another key player, going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
The victory was the third in a row for Legend, bringing their record for this year to 4-1. As for Chatfield, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-3.
