Football Game Preview: Mater Academy East Las Vegas Knights vs. Silverado Skyhawks

The Mater Academy East Las Vegas Knights will face off against the Silverado Skyhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Silverado will be up against a hot Mater Academy East Las Vegas squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Knights breezed past Rancho to the tune of 56-6 on Friday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-6.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Mater Academy East Las Vegas' defense and their eight sacks. It was truly a group effort as Jesiah Daniels, Roque Cabellero, and Jontae Dillard picked up two apiece. Cabellero has been hot recently, having posted at least one sack the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Silverado got themselves on the board against Eldorado on Friday, but Eldorado never followed suit. They blew past the Firehawks, posting a 37-0 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Skyhawks just coasted through the last quarter.

Silverado's win came from a few key players Mater Academy East Las Vegas will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Dillon Elliott, who threw for 89 yards and two touchdowns on only seven passes. Banks Delima got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Silverado didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Quentin Scott led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Silverado got some further help from Brandon Belyeu: he picked up three sacks and made four total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Mater Academy East Las Vegas' victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Silverado, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
