Effingham waltzed into their game on Thursday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. Everything went their way against the St. Anthony Bulldogs as they made off with a 12-2 victory. Considering the Hearts have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Ryley Engel was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sidney Donaldson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Effingham kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Anthony only managed four hits.

Effingham pushed their record up to 22-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for St. Anthony, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-12.

Effingham will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
