Baseball Recap: Southampton Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Southampton's offense. They lost 10-0 to the Lunenburg Central Chargers on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 30 runs in the game before, the Indians' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Southampton's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4. As for Lunenburg Central, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southampton will face off against Sussex Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lunenburg Central, they will challenge Buckingham at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Chargers surely won't give up without a fight.
