Preview: Rainier vs. Toledo
On Friday Rainier take on Toledo at Rainier High School at 7:00 PM. If you head out to watch the game, expect to stay the whole 48 minutes : the MaxPreps state rankings predict a close match.
Rainier had to kick off their season on the road last week, but they showed no ill effects. They took down Raymond 27-10. Junior Brody Klein, who rushed for 108 yards and 1 touchdown, was a major factor in Rainier's success. In fact, with 13 tackles Klein was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, Toledo gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener. Everything went their way against Charles Wright as they made off with a 37-7 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 1-0. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when Rainier and Toledo clash.
