Softball Recap: Mayer Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Mayer's offense. They came up short against the Mohave Accelerated Patriots on Wednesday, falling 21-0. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Wildcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Mayer is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. As for Mohave Accelerated, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Mayer will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Valley Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on March 25th. Mayer has given up an average of 16.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Mohave Accelerated, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ganado at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mohave Accelerated is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.5 runs per game this season.
