Football Recap: Kamiak Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cascade last Friday, Kamiak came back down to earth. The Knights were dealt a 49-6 defeat at the hands of the Lake Stevens Vikings on Friday. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 57-12 to the Vikings when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Kamiak saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jayden Harris rushed for 182 yards and one score. Harris' rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards.

Jayvian Ferrell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lake Stevens, rushing for 106 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Another back making a difference was Colten Fink, who rushed for 105 yards and one TD.

Kamiak's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Lake Stevens, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Kamiak will challenge Glacier Peak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Grizzlies have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups. As for Lake Stevens, they will face off against Arlington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
