Softball Recap: Battery Creek Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Battery Creek had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 6-2 to the Beaufort Eagles on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Dolphins in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost eight in a row.

Mia Isreal was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Emma Phelan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Beaufort and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Battery Creek will take on Colleton County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Beaufort, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Beaufort Eagles challenge Hanahan Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
