Basketball Game Preview: Estrella Foothills Wolves vs. Agua Fria Owls

The Estrella Foothills Wolves will square off against the Agua Fria Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Estrella Foothills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.

Estrella Foothills is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Westview on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Estrella Foothills came up short against Westview, falling 70-50. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Knights are ranked 103rd).

Despite the defeat, Estrella Foothills saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chase Duncan posted ten points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Hone Wray, who scored six points.

Meanwhile, Agua Fria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 68-64 heartbreaker at the hands of Peoria.

Agua Fria now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Estrella Foothills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.

Estrella Foothills was able to grind out a solid victory over Agua Fria when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 57-44. Will Estrella Foothills repeat their success, or does Agua Fria have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
