Preview: Memphis Central Warriors vs. Overton Wolverines
Memphis Central has been on the road for six straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Overton Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Friday, Memphis Central was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 50-49 to Memphis East.
Meanwhile, Overton can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past Kingsbury 85-13 at home. Overton's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Overton found their leader in underclassman Kierra Baldwin, who scored 27 points along with nine steals. Baldwin hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nia Smith, who scored 15 points along with five assists and five steals.
Memphis Central's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2. As for Overton, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Memphis Central was able to grind out a solid win over Overton in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 44-31. Does Memphis Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Overton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
