Baseball Game Preview: Pebblebrook Falcons vs. South Cobb Eagles

For the second straight game, Pebblebrook will face off against South Cobb. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Pebblebrook Falcons take on South Cobb Eagles at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday. Pebblebrook is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Pebblebrook made up a huge gap compared to their last game against South Cobb, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Pebblebrook never let South Cobb get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Falcons as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Sinsaire Walker made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, Jhaki Stewart and Damian (DJ) Phipps did most of the damage at the plate: Stewart scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Phipps went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Stewart is becoming a predictor of Pebblebrook's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 4-2 (and 1-8 when he doesn't). Jadyn Marshall was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Pebblebrook always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are 5-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
