Baseball Game Preview: Aloha Warriors vs. Mountainside Mavericks

The Aloha Warriors will square off against the Mountainside Mavericks at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Aloha's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over West Salem. The victory was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Not much got past Achilles Garcia, who gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks to keep West Salem off the board. Garcia is becoming a predictor of Aloha's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is undefeated (and 2-14 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Aloha let Sunny Corpus and David Hoskins run wild. Corpus got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Hoskins went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Hoskins has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Ethan Ludlow, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Mountainside was able to grind out a solid win over Southridge on Friday, taking the game 5-2. The Mavericks haven't had any issues with the Skyhawks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Mountainside's win bumped their record up to 11-9-1. As for Aloha, their victory bumped their record up to 5-14.
