Preview: Notre Dame Catholic Lancers vs. Immaculate Mustangs
Notre Dame Catholic is 8-2 against Immaculate since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Notre Dame Catholic Lancers will be home for the holidays to greet the Immaculate Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Notre Dame Catholic's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ludlowe.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kendra Mitacek, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Madison Gibbs, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Immaculate earned a 60-53 win over Stamford on Monday. The win was just what Immaculate needed coming off of a 64-36 defeat in their prior match.
Immaculate found their leader in underclassman Kendra Foy, who scored 23 points. Callie Miller was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Notre Dame Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Immaculate, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
