Basketball Preview: Macomb Bombers vs. Illini West Chargers
Macomb is 2-8 against the Chargers since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Macomb Bombers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Illini West Chargers at 7:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Macomb's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Chargers have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Last Saturday, Macomb strolled past the Blue Bullets with points to spare, taking the game 53-37.
Meanwhile, Illini West came up short against the Heat on Saturday and fell 61-48.
Macomb has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 15-12 record this season. As for Illini West, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-13 record this season.
Macomb didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Chargers in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 40-34 victory. Will Macomb repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
