Soccer Game Preview: Pearl River Central vs. Stone

Pearl River Central is 0-9-1 against Stone since December of 2014 but things could change on Friday. The Pearl River Central Blue Devils will look to defend their home pitch against the Stone Tomcats at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pearl River Central's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. Everything went their way against Terry as Pearl River Central made off with a 3-0 win. Considering the Blue Devils have won five contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Stone fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Laurel two weeks ago.

Pearl River Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four games. As for Stone, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7.

Pearl River Central suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Stone in their previous meeting back in January. Can Pearl River Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
