Volleyball Recap: Fort Zumwalt East Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Fort Zumwalt East faced off against Lutheran on Friday. The Lions took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in March.

Oliver Bertel was the offensive standout of the contest as he had 14 digs and two assists. That's the most digs he has posted over his last eight matches.

Fort Zumwalt East has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. As for Lutheran, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-8-1.

Looking ahead, Fort Zumwalt East will welcome Westminster Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lutheran, they will challenge Whitfield at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
