Basketball Recap: NorthWood Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact NorthWood can now relate to. They came up short against the Columbia City Eagles on Tuesday, falling 51-29. The Panthers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Despite the defeat, NorthWood saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ella Branham posted ten points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Claire Payne, who put up eight points and nine boards.

NorthWood's loss dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Columbia City, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-4.

NorthWood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Columbia City, they will face off against Wawasee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Columbia City is facing Wawasee at the right time seeing as Wawasee is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
