Softball Recap: Grand Blanc Bobcats vs. Lakeland Eagles
Grand Blanc lost to Lakeland back in April of 2016, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Bobcats walked away with a 7-2 win over the Eagles.

Savannah Schultz was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Alaina Trotter was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Mitchell, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Grand Blanc was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakeland only posted a batting average of .143.
Grand Blanc's victory bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Lakeland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-8.
Grand Blanc and Lakeland should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Bobcats (ranked sixth) will meet Lapeer (ranked 344th) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Lakeland will challenge Mott at 4:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (57 vs. 457).
