Baseball Recap: East Jordan Wins Going Away Against Central Lake

East Jordan never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against the Central Lake Trojans as they made off with a 27-0 victory. The Red Devils have beaten the Trojans the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Trojans has come to flipping the script.

Korbyn Russell and Elijah Burns were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Russell tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Burns pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. At the plate, Russell got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base, while Burns got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, William Webb and Jacob Haley did most of the damage at the plate: Webb got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Haley got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. Webb has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Malpass, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

East Jordan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Lake didn't got any hits.

East Jordan's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Central Lake, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Coming up, East Jordan will head out on the road to challenge Bellaire at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Central Lake, they will host Inland Lakes at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight.
