Torres is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Mendez get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory last Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Toros with their most commanding win of the season.
Angel Tostado made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Torres got a massive performance out of Jouse Solis Rojas, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Solis Rojas has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Abraham Ramos, who went 3-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Torres was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .303 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Wednesday. Elizabeth won by a run and slipped past Jordan 8-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for Elizabeth.
The team relied heavily on Carlos Esparza, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Carmona, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Torres' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Elizabeth, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Elizabeth's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Torres hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .418. It's a different story for Elizabeth, though, as they've only averaged .236. Will they be able to contain Torres' hitters?
