Soccer Game Preview: Hillcrest vs. Jefferson

The Hillcrest Panthers will head out to challenge the Jefferson Patriots at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hillcrest's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Friday, neither Hillcrest nor South Oak Cliff could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jefferson). Everything went their way against Adamson on Monday as Jefferson made off with a 5-2 win. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by three goals or more this season.

Jefferson now has a winning record of 4-3-1. Hillcrest's draw makes their record 2-2-3 this season.

Hillcrest came out on top in a nail-biter against Jefferson when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hillcrest since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
