Basketball Recap: MacArthur Takes a Loss

MacArthur suffered their biggest loss since January 24th on Thursday. They came up short against the Crowley Eagles, falling 80-55. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 77-61 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2018.

It was another big night for Kingston Willis, who shot 67% from the field on his way to 21 points in addition to five assists and five boards for Crowley. Thanks to that strong game, Willis now owns an excellent 40.8% three-point shooting accuracy. Victor James was another key player, going 6-for-11 to rack up 13 points.

This is the second loss in a row for MacArthur and nudges their season record down to 6-4. As for Crowley, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.

Coming up, MacArthur and Sam Houston will face off at 8:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. The Cardinals will be up against the Texans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 61.44 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Crowley, they and Kingdom Collegiate Academy will face off at 8:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Crowley will need to watch out since Kingdom Collegiate Academy has now posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
