Basketball Recap: Istrouma Comes Up Short

Istrouma was the 69-50 winner over West Feliciana when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Istrouma Indians took a 62-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Feliciana Saints. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while the Saints are ranked 135th).

Travis Lathers was his usual excellent self, putting up 21 points for West Feliciana. The team also got some help courtesy of Tim Lindsey, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Istrouma has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-22 record this season. As for West Feliciana, their record now sits at 19-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Istrouma will face off against Plaquemine at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Feliciana, they will square off against Central Private at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
