Volleyball Recap: Hays Indians vs. Valley Center Hornets
Hays lost against Valley Center back in October of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hays Indians fell 2-0 to the Valley Center Hornets. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Hays was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-20.
Molly Martin paced Hays' offense, picking up seven kills. Martin got some help from
Brooke Bieker and her 14 assists. Finally, Bieker was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.
Gianna Roeser was the offensive standout of the match as she had 13 digs.
Hays' loss dropped their record down to 27-9. As for Valley Center, their record now sits at 21-13.
