Volleyball Recap: Kings Knights vs. Turpin Spartans

After flying high against Walnut Hills on Tuesday, Kings came back down to earth. The Knights fell 3-1 to the Turpin Spartans on Thursday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Kings had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 22-25, 25-20, 25-22.

Ava McIntyre paced Kings' offense, picking up 11 kills. McIntyre got some help from Anabelle Seni and her 27 assists. Laura Raines controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Mallory Thorn went supernova For Turpin., getting 26 digs and two assists. Those 26 digs gave Thorn a new career-high.

Having lost for the first time this season, Kings fell to 8-1. As for Turpin, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Kings has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Sycamore on the 15th. As for Turpin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Walnut Hills on the 16th.
