Volleyball Recap: Berean Christian Academy Falls to Oakwood Academy in First Game of Season

Berean Christian Academy had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Oakwood Academy Warhawks by a score of 3-2.

The 3-2 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Berean Christian Academy lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 20-25, 23-25, 25-22, 16-14.

Oakwood Academy was led to victory by Maya Cope and Jaidyn Long. Cope had five aces, while Long had five aces.

Berean Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Trinity Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on September 2. As for Oakwood Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Varsity Opponent at 6:30 p.m.
