Baseball Game Preview: Rootstown Rovers vs. John F. Kennedy Catholic Eagles

Rootstown hasn't had much luck against John F. Kennedy Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Rovers will face off against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Rootstown's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so John F. Kennedy Catholic's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Rootstown was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Berkshire 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rovers have posted since April 14th.

Meanwhile, John F. Kennedy Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat LaBrae on Saturday and fell 4-3.

Rootstown has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for John F. Kennedy Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
